Watch Violet Chachki play a drag Marilyn Monroe in short Prada film

The new AW18 campaign film also features model Amanda Murphy and actress Sarah Paulson as a rollerskating waitress

For anybody who’s a fan of RuPaul’s Drag Race, you’ll know how season seven winner Violet Chachki completely scalped the runway, and also us in the process. Since her win, she’s continued bringing it to you every ball, making appearances on the runway at Dilara Findikolgu as Satan, and Moschino as a sexy conjoined twin with Dazed 100er Oslo Grace.

Now, in what might be her biggest fashion moment, the drag superstar features in Prada’s new AW18 campaign – shot by Willy Vanderperre. Entitled Neon Dream, the short film sees Chachki alongside model Amanda Murphy and actress Sarah Paulson. Like the season’s show venue the film is filled with neon lights, set in the appropriate setting of Las Vegas’s Sunset Strip.

Showing off her acting skills, Paulson appears as a variety of different characters – from valet girl to rollerskating waitress – including (for a brief flash) as Marilyn Monroe. Chachki too dons the actress’s instantly recognisable blonde hair and white dress. Later, she appears as herself giving a burlesque performance to Paulson and Murphy, eventually being joined by the model on stage.

With Chachki now earning herself a spot in the Italian label’s campaign, we’re all praying to Ru that she makes an appearance at the next womenswear show in September. She’s such a pro, she might even serve two looks in one.
