Last night at Milan Fashion Week, Jeremy Scott presented his AW18 menswear collection for Moschino that he described backstage as a “tiny bit kinky”. Sure, if you consider gimp masks, slogans like Bottom’, ‘Lick’, ‘Thirsty’, ‘Stud’ and ‘Daddy’ and a hell of a lot of latex as just a ‘tiny bit’. Closing the show in a conjoined tuxedo sans-shirt look was Violet Chachki. For a collection that explored the idea of gender, who better to close than the gender fluid drag superstar?
While you might think this would be the first time Chachki has taken to the runway in a conjoined look, you’d be wrong. On her season of RuPaul’s Drag Race – the one she won if you needed reminding – she took part in the ‘Conjoined Queens’ task that saw her create a can-can-inspired look with fellow queen Max.
Chachki is no stranger to fashion week, walking last year in Dilara Findikoglu’s SS18 show that took place in a church (earning it the label of “satanic orgy” by alt-right radio host Alex Jones). Similar to her look at Findikoglu’s show, Chachki appeared at Moschino also with her hair fashioned into devil horns – is she trying to tell us something? Yasss! Slay Satan!
