This isn’t the first time the fashion world has seen a CK x Warhol crossover. Following the announcement of a collaboration between Calvin Klein and the Andy Warhol Foundation last year, the brand has put the artist’s kissing couples on it’s underwear and adorned barn-come-show spaces with his iconic pop art prints.
The latest instalment of the partnership is a CK Jeans capsule collection featuring candid self-portraits of Warhol himself. Composed of vibrant, heritage-inflected denim, t-shirts and hoodies, small accessories, and classic high-top sneakers, the collection embraces a uniquely egalitarian spirit.
With a promise of previously unpublished works being featured, the partnership is set to continue for another two years. Redefining art and fashion collaborations, the capsule focuses on the person behind the pieces, he who is as instantly recognizable as any of his most famous subjects.
Following his recent CFDA award for Womenswear Designer of the Year at Calvin Klein, Raf Simons has previously showcased some of Warhol’s lesser-known art pieces, as part of both the brand’s campaigns and runway collections.
Calvin Klein Jeans' Andy Warhol Self Portraits collection will be available from June 7.
