Following last year’s announcement and partnership with the Andy Warhol Foundation – that will continue until 2020 – the new collection features some of the artist’s famous prints. Reflecting Simons’ ongoing obsession with Americana, the images are shot by longterm collaborator and photographer Willy Vanderperre, and see models hanging out in that same barn that housed the AW18 show (sadly sans popcorn), the Kardashians, and some of music’s biggest names. In an evolution from the last collection, the Pre-Fall pieces include chunky wool jumpers with bold black letters stitched on them, and an oversized red puffa coat too. A signal that Raf is heading in a streetwear direction for the next collection maybe, or a nod to his previous own-brand offerings? Elsewhere, vests and accessories are printed with black and white Warhol prints. With the partnership continuing for another two years – and the promise of previously unpublished works being featured – stay tuned for more. Escape the algorithm!
