FashionNewsThis film will make you look twice at your cityA new collab between Nike and Berlin-based label Acronym offers a cinematic premonition on our surveillance cultureShareLink copied ✔️September 14, 2015FashionNewsTextAnna CafollaIn Partnership with Nike-Acronym-collab In a partnership that celebrates extreme utilitarian functionality, Nike has united with Berlin-based label Acronym® to create a unique reinterpretation of the iconic Air Force 1 shoe. This short film for Dazed by London-based filmmaker Rollo Jackson explores the collaboration's place within a metropolis where surveillance is the norm, championing the underground movements in a dystopian city. Alongside the abstract film is an accompanying unreleased and exclusive track by pioneering dance music duo Joy Orbison and Boddika. “Stompy”, much like some of their other collabs has the reverberating bass that fills inner-city clubs, with a unique techno edit rewritten for the film. It’s a rare deal from the artists, whose releases are few and far between. Having worked on projects for Hot Chip and cult skate brand Supreme, Jackson's film warps the subcultures of sound and city, paying homage to some of the finest things they have to offer: warehouse raves, urban sport culture and – love it or hate it – hulking, stark achitecture. Who said our futures weren’t looking bright? The NikeLab Lunar Force 1 x Acronym® will be available September 17 at nike.com/nikelab and in select global retailers.
