Most of us do our best to keep our bags closed at all times. In London, where theft is thriving, keeping our handbags firmly shut is essential. But beyond protecting our personal belongings, seeing inside someone’s bag can be deeply embarrassing. Take mine for example, if you were to look inside it at this very moment, you’d discover two pens, a tin of Vaseline that must be at least three years old, some hand wipes that have dried out so much that they’re now crunchy, one single tampon, and a pack of Marlboro Touch (for emergencies).

Some people are less embarrassed by the contents of their bags, as proved in the latest Louis Vuitton Speedy P9 campaign. Last week, the French brand released a series of images giving us a glimpse inside its ambassadors’ bags. Framed by that classic monogram print, the Speedy is unzipped to reveal what friends of the brand keep close to them. We’re able to spy that Jeremy Allen White travels with a comb, a newspaper and a pair of dice, while Future keeps a gold chain and a tennis racket on him – just in case. Jackson Wang keeps a Rubik’s Cube in his Speedy; LeBron James needs his shaving cream and a golf ball.

The purpose of the campaign is to reflect the brand ambassadors’ personalities through the contents of their bags – choose who you’d most get along with by scrolling through the full gallery above. Elsewhere in fashion this week, in honour of Martin Margiela’s 69th birthday, we revisited this 20-year-old photoshoot from Dazed’s March 2006 issue, and a new photo series reimagined Barbara Kruger’s seminal streetwear drop. Here’s everything else you need to catch up on…

ZENDAYA IS LAW’S ASSISTANT NOW

As if Zendaya wasn’t having a busy enough year already, she’s now taken on the role of Law Roach’s assistant. As her loyal stylist, Roach is usually the one taking care of the actress, responsible for all your favourite Zendaya red carpet looks. Now, in a new campaign for On, the pair have reversed their roles, and Zendaya is filmed working as a fashion assistant. Good luck to her. See here.

PALACE AND NIKE ARE REUNITED

After teaming up on a major collab late last year, Palace and Nike returned this week with more styles to add to your wishlist. Marking the third chapter in the two brands’ ongoing partnership, they’ve now unveiled the Palace Nike Air Max 95, an homage to the Air Max 97 Silver Bullet style. See here

ARIES TEAMS UP WITH CHAMPION

Earlier this week, London streetwear brand Aries revealed its latest collaboration, joining forces with New York streetwear legend Champion. The new collection sees the two brands come together for the very first time, though it feels like a couple that was destined for one another. The collab is accompanied by a campaign photographed by Douglas Irvine, featuring boxers Harlem Eubank and Tiah Mai Ayton. See here.

TRUE WHITAKER IS A GANNI GIRL

Rising actress and star of Rachel Sennott’s I Love LA, True Whitaker has been tapped by Danish brand Ganni as its latest ambassador. Starring in a campaign photographed by Grey Sorrenti and styled by Vanessa Reid, Whitaker poses with Ganni’s Mini Hobo bag.

ALAÏA DOES JEANS NOW

Pieter Mulier may have left the building (the former creative director is now on his way to Milan, where he will take on a new role as Versace’s designer), but Alaïa is still managing to make waves in the industry. The latest ripple comes in the form of a brand new denim line – developed over the past year, under Mulier’s creative direction. The ‘perfect fit’ jeans are available now, here.
