Fashion / ShowBelstaff AW15Celebrating the first ladies of flight with shearling lined jackets and mohair turtlenecksShareLink copied ✔️February 24, 2015FashionShowTextAshleigh KaneBelstaff AW15 Initial reaction: In honour of Belstaff's 'First Ladies', aviatrixes Amelia Earhart and Amy Johnson, the brand took over an abandoned, crumbling country mansion and threw a party as Delphine Ninous celebrated her first collection as vice president of women's design. How they wore it: Natural materials such as leather, rabbit furs and shearling spearheaded the brand's AW15 collection and heralded their muse of the season – the adventurous girl. Masculine shapes like structured biker jackets, heavy Chelsea boots and parkas were offset with feminine details: baby blue jacquards, floor length chiffon dresses, white jumpsuits and soft mohair turtlenecks. The atmosphere: Models swigged champagne, laughed and mingled with the showgoers like party hosts. Rooms bulged with tuxedoed waiters and guests as huge white vintage parachute silks hung from the mansion's high ceilings in a nod to the brand's heritage as a supplier to pilots and the British Army.
