FashionNewsBeijing designer goes missing after Umbrella Revolution showLiu Wei has not been seen after being arrested for a runway collection which referenced the Hong Kong protestsShareLink copied ✔️November 21, 2014FashionNewsTextDazed Digital For all the hype generated by Chanel's fashion show slash feminist protest last season, it's easy to take for granted that Karl Lagerfeld was even able to make a statement about equal rights at all. One Beijing designer, Liu Wei, hasn't been as lucky. During Liu Wei's show at the Mercedes-Benz China Fashion Week in Hong Kong, she made a bold statement about the recent Occupy Central protests. With models dressed in face masks and bloodstained umbrellas, Liu was drawing clear references to the violent clashes between police and protesters, which saw demonstrators attempt to protect themselves from teargas attacks with masks and brollies.
