Now, the label has teamed up with acclaimed artist Helen Marten for her new project “30 Blizzards” at Art Basel Paris. A major new proposition by the artist, the piece includes sculpture, painting, video, drawing and writing, and also marks the first time that Marten has included performance in one of her works. In a statement from the brand, it said that the work “explores a cross-section of different disciplines, the interrelationship between distinct and divergent mediums when placed in proximate dialogue.” The exhibition itself is structured around five sculptures and five newly-conceived videos, while 30 performers “inhabit the space interchangeably with song and speech”, choreographed by theatre director Fabio Cherstich. Taking place at the Palais d’Iéna – the headquarters of France’s Economic, Social and Environmental Council – from October 22-26, “30 Blizzards” also celebrates Miu Miu’s ongoing role as Art Basel’s public program official partner. Modeled by frequent collaborator Sissy Misfit, Owens shot the new campaign in his own Paris studio, and also commented on the collaboration’s unique lacing technique. “I thought I invented it, but I only recently realized my mega-lacing is a memory of the boot worn by Joseph Beuys during his 1965 action “How to Explain Pictures to a Dead Hare”,” said Owens. “It was one of the first art moments I encountered that formed who I am today.” To get your hands on a pair, click here.view more + 5/7 5/7 Courtesy of Stone IslandDAVE TOURS HIS STONE ISLAND ARCHIVETo celebrate the upcoming release of his new album The Boy Who Played the Harp, Dave linked up with Stone Island for a tour of his own Stone Island archive.
