Dazed's senior fashion editor picks his best-of from the capital
Throughout the Autumn/Winter womenswear fashion weeks, the Dazed fashion team will summarise their highlights of New York, London, Milan and Paris. Here, senior fashion editor Robbie Spencer shares his Milan highlights.
FAVOURITE LOOKS OF MILAN AW13:
The Versace Fraggle Rock 'Vunk' Punk-inspired patterned fur coats (above).
The Prada turquoise leather looks...
and the whole Fendi collection.
The Fendi monster face clutches and fur cube key rings are genius, I want one.
The regal Dolce & Gabbana crowns are quite fun.
The Fendi patterned furry shoes were great, and the Dolce & Gabbana birdcage shoes (apparently they wanted to put actual birds inside in the shoes at one point) and the carved wooden wedges.
Yumi Lambert, Irina K with her new vibrant ginger hair, Amra and Tilda Lindstrum are all having great seasons
The Pucci venue is always beautiful, and the Prada set was as expected pretty epic following on from the menswear AW13 show, this time instead of an interior set for the models to walk through, the architectural feel was applied to the walls in the form of moving silhouettes
The Fendi show soundtrack was quite epic, the models were all wearing fur mohawks stomping down the catwalk to 'Firestarter' by The Prodigy. I also liked the Giorgio Armani soundtrack which featured Grace Jones' 'I've Seen That Face Before' and the nostalgic Moschino Britpop soundtrack that featured Oasis' 'Wonderwall' and Blur. Of course not forgetting Dolce & Gabbana's warm-up show music comprising the Spice Girls' greatest hits! We entered the room to the sound of '2 Become 1' followed by 'Mama' and 'Viva Forever'.
The catering the CK Jeans presentation is always a much needed pit stop.
BEST GOODIE BAG/FREEBIE:
No.21 sweatshirts and Bulgari are always very generous – this season we got personalised pocket mirrors.
