As a nod to different forms of intimacy and relationships, Dolce&Gabbana Beauty‘s latest fragrances, K and Q celebrate the synergy between self-love and the love you feel with others. To coincide with the launch of the fragrances, Dazed has partnered with the Italian brand to create a mini-film series embodying the characters both the K and Q fragrances convey. Entitled Love Notes, the two-part mini-film series features London-based couple Madison Hahn and Akira Woodgrain, alongside friends and creative collaborators Danni Spooner and Novaya Shey. Shot by director Angelina Mamoun-Bergenwall and styled by Charlotte Roberts, the films capture both duos as they unpack different ideas relating to love within the comfort of their own homes. The first part, On Self Love, focuses on personal reflections on love, confidence and the strength to find beauty in oneself. “Having someone real close to me has made me realise that a lot of the flaws I thought I had are not that important, especially if other people don’t consider them to be flaws,” explains Akira Woodgrain. We also see Spooner and Shey focus on the aspects of themselves they love the most, including personal quirks, confidence, resilience and the ability to nurture community. Elsewhere, the second part of the series called On Connection speaks to honesty and the day-to-day expressions of love. Dreamy shots show both duos as we hear them openly discuss the importance of their bonds. Speaking on her bond with Spooner, Shey says “It’s a nice warm feeling when you are around someone that you identify with and a part of them represents a part of you”. Over a cup of tea, the two go on to discuss what they admire about each other highlighting the beauty found in their shared experiences being a part of the queer community. The second part also sees Woodgrain and Hahn go through the love languages as they talk through the different ways they receive and show love to each other in order to deepen their connection.
