BLOKtv is the online fitness & wellness hub for exciting lockdown workouts

Launched by boutique gym brand BLOK, the new platform is jam-packed with classes hosted by its impressive line-up of trainers – brought to you wherever you are

Back in 2016, husband and wife duo Ed and Reema Stanbury – along with fashion photographer Max Oppenheim – launched BLOK, a boutique fitness space in east London. In the four years since then, the brand has spread out far and wide – now with three locations in London and Manchester – and the demand continues to grow.

Then, as it did for all of us, the unexpected happened when coronavirus hit. Undeterred, BLOK saw this as the perfect opportunity to launch a longtime dream project in the form of BLOKtv – an online hub of fitness and wellness classes hosted by its impressive line-up of trainers that could be accessed by anyone, anywhere.

“With three physical sites already and plans to grow the brand beyond the UK, BLOKtv is a natural next step for engaging a global community that can access our complete offering and lockdown has allowed us to focus our minds on bringing this forward as a priority,” explains co-founder Reema. “Since launch we have seen customers logging on from all corners of the world on a daily basis, and this is something we are hugely excited by.”

Offering over 150 live classes a week, and more on-demand that can be streamed at any times, the roster is jam-packed with yoga, barre, meditation, core strength, breathwork, cardio, boxing, and more – all designed to be done with limited equipment or none at all. “BLOK is about more than just burning calories and getting ripped,” says Reema. “From studio to home, BLOK classes are designed to promote a balanced fitness routine and we hope that BLOKtv will be an extension of this.”

A hit already with BLOK members old and new, BLOKtv is more than just a temporary solution to isolation – it’s an online community for fitness enthusiasts and a way to keep the mind and body in shape even when we return to the new normal. “Community has always been at the heart of BLOK, and it’s our aim with BLOKtv to provide a platform which both our instructors and customers can really feel part of,” Reema concludes.

“During lockdown, it feels like now more than ever we need to keep our community moving. We believe in learning new things, building strength, flexibility, skills, and having fun. BLOK is not just about getting fitter, it should make you feel better in every part of your life and I think everyone could do with a little bit of that in their lives right now!”
