After collaborating with everyone and her mother (literally), the reality star has announced a new partnership with Kardashian favourite, French fashion house Balmain. WWD reports that Balmain designer Olivier Rousteing hit up Jenner to be the artistic director for make-up at the designer’s show this season. Alongside this, Jenner’s brand Kylie Cosmetics will be releasing a Balmain capsule collection on Friday (September 27) to coincide with the show at Paris Fashion Week. The collection will include lip products and an eyeshadow palette and was inspired by Look 26, a pastel pink jumpsuit, from Balmain’s SS19 Couture show which Jenner wore to the Grammys earlier this year. “Olivier and I talked through which products we wanted to create, and we agreed that an eyeshadow palette, a matte lip kit and a high gloss would really bring together the look we were aiming for,” Jenner told WWD. “We worked together and selected the colours for all products and designed the packaging.” “It happened in a totally spontaneous and natural way,” Rousteing said. “We started talking about what inspires us, and Kylie really loved my couture collection from January with these very soft, pastel colours that are very much in tune with her universe. We decided to blend our two worlds.” This collection with Kylie Cosmetics is the second time Balmain has ventured into cosmetics. In 2017, the fashion house collaborated with L’Oréal Paris on a range of lipsticks. Balmain is also currently in the process of launching its own cosmetics line. “Launching Balmain cosmetics with Kylie allows us to gain a foothold in cosmetics in a totally unconventional way,” Rousteing explained to WWD.
