Arts+Culture / NewsFacebook's new top friends feature is so MyspaceIncite passive aggressive friendship wars like the good old days with the 'See First' featureShareLink copied ✔️June 19, 2015Arts+CultureNewsText Anna Cafolla Remember the ridiculous amount of time you spent agonising over your Myspace top friends? The friendship circles solidified or serious shade you could throw by moving a partner or friend out of the chosen few. Well Facebook are now bringing out a tool that will bring back that retro anxiety over who makes the cut. You’ll be able to make use of a new feature that allows you to see a limited number of other Facebook users and their updates on your feed. This new 'See First' button can be activated on a user’s profile so their posts and updates will appear first. You can revel in the pleasure of moving that troll Rach out and welcoming Sarah into the special few. A spokesperson from Facebook said: "We are always exploring new ways to improve the Facebook experience, and are currently running a small test of a feature that lets you indicate that you’d like to see posts from a specific person or page at the top of your News Feed." It’s another move to improve the state of the news feed, following an update last year allowing users to mute others’ updates without having to awkwardly unfriend them. The social network also uses an algorithm to filter content, favouring statuses and stuff from personal friends, (which is why those pages of Scrubs quotes you liked when you were 16 no longer show up.) And ICYMI, There’s also less clickbait on your feed because of the network’s monitoring of how long users spend on clicked links. “YOU WON”T BELIEVE WHAT THIS TWEET-“ Yes. We would.
