Get ready for K-pop supergroup Girls On Top

The seven-member act consists of BoA, plus members of aespa, Girls’ Generation, and Red Velvet

SM Entertainment has helmed a brand new K-pop girl group with members of its roster, including those from aespa, Red Velvet, and Girls’ Generation.

Named GOT (which stands for ‘Girls on Top’), the seven-member act is led by BoA, and is also made up of aespa’s Winter and Karina, Red Velvet’s Seulgi and Wendy, Taeyeon, and Hyoyeon of Girls’ Generation.

It’s not the first time that SM has launched its own composite band, as this new all-female group will be the sixth project from the agency. 2019’s SuperM featured musicians from the entertainment company’s existing names including Taemin of SHINee, and Kai and Baekhyun of Exo.

Girls On Top’s first song is due for release on January 3, and they’ll make their live debut on New Year’s Day. “Girls, bring it on,” reads their official Twitter bio.

In other recent K-pop news, BTS’s Suga said he hopes to remain in the K-pop group “until I die”, according to a recent interview.
