The artist didn’t elaborate on his reasons, but added: “I just like BTS,” as per Soompi’s translations. The rapper-producer is behind countless hits for the supergroup, though he denies the possibility of branching out to other K-pop bands in the future. ”I’m often asked how I’d like to try producing (a group),” he explained. “But I don’t think I’d be able to. I don’t have that much responsibility to be responsible for someone else.” Suga also discussed his hopes for BTS’s nomination for best pop duo/group performance for their track “Butter” at the 2022 Grammys: “I have a humble version and a confident version so which one should I do? Honestly, I don’t have high expectations,” he said. “But I do think we’ll receive it!” Earlier this month, the band revealed plans to take some time off from live performances and music – marking the band’s first hiatus since 2019. This period of rest will provide the members of BTS, who have tirelessly committed themselves to their activities, a chance to get re-inspired and recharge with creative energy,” said a statement. “It will also be the first time since their debut (that they will be able) to spend the holiday season with their families.” But fans won’t have to wait too long for new material. The band members will be preparing for a brand “new chapter” – including the release of a new album and an “in-person” concert in Seoul this March. Need a K-pop fix in the meantime?
