Arca and Sia collaborate on ‘emotional’ cut ‘Born Yesterday’

Alejandra Ghersi Rodriguez also announced her next album, KICK ii, which will see Mica Levi and Clark collabs

As something of an unexpected collaboration, Arca and Sia have teamed up on “Born Yesterday“. It’s the first single from Arca’s KICK ii album, the follow-up to 2020’s KICK i, which is due December 3 via XL Recordings.

Over 12 tracks of all-original Arca productions, the album sees collaborations with Boys Noize, Clark, Mica Levi, Jenius Level, WondaGurl, Cubeatz, and fellow Venezuelan, Cardopusher.

“Kick has been blessed by none other than Sia on “Born Yesterday”,” Arca wrote on Twitter. “Sia you really went off and tore it on this one. Thank you from the heart <3 Everyone get in, we’re getting emotional on this one“.

The new track comes after last week‘s long-awaited, mutated rap track, “Incendio”. Arca recently previewed another unlikely collaboration between her and Azealia Banks, titled ”All The Boys“. “Azealia and Arca coming for heads,” she wrote on Instagram, adding in Spanish: “Azealia you are the yin to my yang I eat you all like a choripan!”

Arca has also hinted at a potential collaboration with The Weeknd (after The Weeknd said he’d “love to work” with her in a cover interview for GQ). Elsewhere, she featured on the tracklist for Lady Gaga’s recently-released Chromatica remix album, reworking Gaga and Ariana Grande’s “Rain On Me”.

The Venezuelan artist recently featured in a new Juergen Teller-lensed accessories campaign for Loewe, with JW Anderson tapping the artist alongside Gillian Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross.
