Titled Joseph, the two-track release follows a performance of both songs at yesterday’s Global Citizen Live. The two tracks — the latter of which was released by the French singer Michel Fugain in 1972, titled “Fais comme l'oiseau” — also mark the first solo material from Christine and the Queens since the 2020 EP La vita nuova. Last year, her collaboration with Caroline Polachek on the title song from La vita nuova made Dazed’s list of 2020’s best tracks. More recently, Chris has joined Charli XCX for a podcast series looking to find the “best song ever”. The singer’s latest Global Citizen appearance also included performances of last year’s single “People, I’ve been sad”, and “Doesn’t matter”, a track from the self-titled 2018 album Chris.
