Originally teased ahead of the singer’s latest album, Happier Than Ever, the film will follow a performance of the record’s entire tracklist at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl, alongside Finneas, conductor Gustavo Duhamel, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic orchestra. The new teaser offers a glimpse at the animation that is set to feature in the film, directed by Spy Kids’ Robert Rodriguez and Oscar-winning filmmaker Patrick Osborne. During the 30-second clip, Billie Eilish reclines in a plush chair (comfy furniture seems to be a recurring theme) before transforming into an animated avatar of herself. If you ever wondered what she’d look like as a Disney princess, now you know. “Disney is incredibly iconic, so to collaborate on something like this is a huge honour,” she explained on announcing the concert film last month. “To be able to present my album in this way and dedicate it to the city that I love and grew up in is so exciting to me. I hope you love it.” Eilish’s follow-up to When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? has also seen her release several self-directed music videos, including “my future”, “Therefore I Am”, “Your Power”, “Lost Cause”, “NDA”, and the titular “Happier Than Ever”. Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles premieres September 3 on Disney Plus. Watch the new teaser below.
