The self-produced track is accompanied by a stop motion animated music video by director Lucas David, and marks the former Crystal Castles frontwoman’s first release since August last year, when she contributed “NIGHTMARES” to a compilation by the experimental label Sermon 3 Recordings. Glass embarked on a solo career in 2014, going on to release her debut eponymous EP in 2017. Since then, she’s shared a handful of singles, including 2018’s “Mine” – the video of which starred Drag Race’s Violet Chachki – and “Cease and Desist”. The latter marked Glass’ first piece of new music since she accused her former Crystal Castles bandmate Ethan Kath of sexual abuse. The musician alleges that Kath abused her for almost a decade, and says it was the reason she eventually left the band. “My music, my performances, and my fans were all I had in the world,” she said in 2017. “I gave that up and started over, not because I wanted to but because I had to.” Kath has consistently denied the allegations, and even sued Glass for defamation – though she went on to win the case in 2018.
