Speaking to Triple J, she singled out nine tracks to be exact, including music from James Blake, Drake, Phoebe Bridgers, and more. So, what has the “Therefore I Am” singer given her stamp of approval? James Blake has covered Eilish herself during quarantine, but it’s his August single “Are You Even Real?” that she adds to her list, alongside Drake’s “Time Flies” and Dominic Fike’s “Chicken Tenders”. Phoebe Bridgers’s “Savior Complex” also gets a mention (bonus points for the Paul Mescal-and-tiny-dog-starring video, surely) as well as tracks from Cyn, Bruno Major, and Tekno. Dazed 100 alum Jorja Smith also makes the cut with “By Any Means”. Get a behind-the-scenes look at her video for the track – which doubles as a portrait of Black British life – here. At number one though, Billie Eilish selects The Strokes’ “At The Door”, from the band’s sixth studio album, The New Abnormal. “I wish I could put this whole album as my first choice,” says Eilish. “It’s been my favourite album in many years. There is something about The Strokes, I don’t know what it is, man. I love ‘At The Door’, I love the melodies, I love the lyrics, I love everything about it. The Strokes hit a nerve.” Late last month, Billie Eilish also looked back on 2020 through her fourth annual Vanity Fair interview, talking about how her life and goals have changed, and how the pandemic has forced her to take some time off (including cancelling her world tour).
