Megan Thee Stallion, BTS, Harry Styles and more nab their first Grammy noms

Doja Cat and Arca are also first-time nominees, while Beyoncé leads with nine nominations

The nominations for the 2021 Grammy Awards are in, and Beyoncé leads the way with nine of them, including multiple nods for her visual album, Black Is King. Dua Lipa and Taylor Swift lead the rest of the pack alongside Roddy Ricch, with their respective 2020 albums – Future Nostalgia and Folklore – earning six nominations each.

There are some notable newcomers featured in the nominations this year too, though. BTS, for one, have claimed their first nomination – also the first for a K-pop group in a major Grammys category – with their record-breaking single “Dynamite”.

The three nominations for Harry Styles are also his first, though some fans have complained that he’s been snubbed in most of the major categories (a claim echoed by the BTS Army, since BTS only received one nomination, in the pop duo/group performance category).

Elsewhere, there are first-time nominations for Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion (whose “Savage” remix accounts for a couple of Beyoncé’s nominations – just like it accounted for a spike in OnlyFans traffic shortly after it was released).

In the dance music categories meanwhile, Arca gains recognition for one of 2020’s most inventive records, KiCk i, while slowthai makes an appearance via one of this year’s many collaborations: “My High” with Disclosure and Aminé.
