In the teaser, the rapper travels back in time to the Wild West (of course), in a nod to his record-breaking, much-remixed hit “Old Town Road”. There, he encounters Santa Claus getting kicked out of the saloon, and somehow ends up being transformed into Santa himself. A cameo from Michael J Fox rounds out the snippet, with the Back to the Future actor dishing out some sound advice: “Whatever you do Nas, don’t go to 2020.” Luckily for us though, Lil Nas X is in 2020, and is set to release “Holiday” this Friday (November 13). He’s also spoken about the upcoming release on Twitter, suggesting that it will be part of an upcoming album, as well as announcing an upcoming concert on the online video game Roblox. “It’s scary as hell releasing new music after not dropping for a long time,” he writes, “but I know for a fact y’all finna love this song and this album!” Revisit Lil Nas X’s 2019 cover interview with Dazed here, and watch the teaser for “Holiday” below.
