OnlyFans sees a spike in traffic following the shoutout from Beyoncé

The singer namechecked the platform in a recently-released remix of Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘Savage’

Earlier this week (April 29), Beyoncé joined Megan Thee Stallion for a remix of her song “Savage”. All proceeds from the new version of the Suga track are going towards coronavirus relief efforts in the artists’ shared hometown of Houston, but it seems the lyrics had another beneficial effect.

Following the release of the “Savage” remix, a spokesperson for OnlyFans has reportedly linked it to a spike in traffic for the site, telling The Daily Beast: “In less than 24 hours since Megan Thee Stallion dropped her ‘Savage’ remix featuring Beyoncé, OnlyFans has seen a 15 percent spike in traffic.”

Presumably, that has something to do with the new verse in the song, which references the platform alongside TikTok: “Hips TikTok when I dance / On that Demon Time she might start an OnlyFans.

“The surprise call-out from Beyoncé on the ‘Savage’ remix was very exciting for us, to say the least,” adds OnlyFans CEO and founder Tim Stokely.

Of course, during coronavirus quarantine, Beyoncé’s seal of approval isn’t the only thing directing more traffic towards adult sites such as OnlyFans. Pornhub offering free premium porn has also coincided with rising sex toy sales during self-isolation, and OnlyFans itself has seen sex workers launch a campaign to support the NHS.
