With much of the world on lockdown due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and social distancing encouraging people to stay at least two metres away from each other, it’s highly likely that a huge number of people are finding themselves pretty sexually frustrated right now (see: understatement).

Good news, then, that Pornhub is opening up its premium features for free for… well, everyone. 

Having first offered access to its paid services to those isolating in Italy, the porn site’s vice president Corey Price stated: “With nearly one billion people in lockdown across the world, it’s important that we lend a hand (LOL) and provide them with an enjoyable way to pass the time,” adding that he hoped it would prove “an extra incentive to stay home and flatten the curve”.

Access is available through the site’s dedicated Stayhomehub, with those logging on having to confirm they “agree to self-isolate and enjoy Premium videos for FREE”, or, if they’re unable to isolate, that they promise “to regularly wash their hands and maintain social distance”.

As well as this truly generous and welcome gesture, Pornhub is also offering up some cold hard cash, as it announces it is set to donate 50,000 protective masks to first responders, firefighters, and medical professionals working at New York’s Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital. Elsewhere, €50,000 will be donated to various European organisations, while €25,000 will go towards the Sex Workers Outreach Project (SWOP) in support of those whose livelihood has been hit by the COVID-19 outbreak. 

With many countries now a few weeks in to their enforced lockdowns, it’s likely much of the initial enthusiasm shown for Zoom yoga sessions, remote aerobics classes, and their trusty Pelotons will have died down a little – but at least, thanks to Pornhub, your forearm will still be getting a bit of a workout.
