The track is a collaboration with Troye Sivan, who previously collaborated with Charli on “1999”. Where that song looked at the past, this one has its eyes firmly set on the future. The music video, directed by Bradley & Pablo, sees Charli and Troye ride around on jet skis in very impractical ways. “This is the best video ever,” Charli said in a press release. “I’m so happy I made it. Troye and I are so talented. Thank you to Bradley and Pablo for directing and also to Troye, who trained so hard for the shoot. Enjoy.” Charli is set to embark on a world tour from September 20, with a special Halloween show scheduled for London’s O2 Brixton Academy on October 31. Watch the “2099” video below.
