It’ll be exactly like you’re there… except you’re not
So you didn’t get tickets to Coachella. Maybe you couldn’t afford to spend hundreds of dollars on tickets and travel to wander through the desert dodging glittered up Instagrammers. Or maybe you morally object to the festival owner, Philip Anschutz, who ‘actively funds’ anti-LGBTQ groups and personally donated almost $200,000 to Trump’s campaign.
Well, thanks to YouTube you can sit in your pyjamas or dance in your living room to the action as it happens as they’ll be livestreaming the festival all weekend. The stream will feature at least 80 acts including Queen Bey, The Weekend (also available in virtual reality, which would have been way better when he had his more artistic hair dreadlock-tidal wave do), Tyler the Creator, and SZA. Unfortunately, Cardi B is not yet on the list of confirmed streams.
In years past, Coachella has confirmed additional artists – including its heaviest hitters – at the very last minute. So, you’re going to have to keep your eyes on the schedule and YouTube page for the weekend.
If you’re overwhelmed by the choices and don’t know what to watch, here’s our list of who you should look out for below (time in BST):
