The four-minute clip, which was directed by Alasdair Mclellan and styled by Ellie Grace Cumming, was filmed in Marfa, Texas. It was shared on the group’s YouTube channel today (November 28), alongside a short note. “Today we get to share our new video for ‘On Hold’ with you!” they wrote. “The video is directed by the brilliant Alasdair McLellan, whose work we all adore... It was filmed in Marfa, Texas, a very special place to us, where we wrote and recorded some of our new album.” “We have a lot of love and respect for the people of the USA, having played hundreds of shows across the country over the past years. We hope this video reflects just some of the warmth and acceptance we have encountered there.” The video also features appearances from London skater and Dazed 100 star Blondey McCoy, as well as US model Ali Michael. The xx’s latest album, I See You, is set for release on January 13, and will be accompanied by a world tour (which will include a record-breaking seven-show run at Brixton Academy).
