The London group – who shared the news in a series of surprise social media posts – also unveiled an ‘In The Studio’ playlist to accompany the announcement. “We wanted to share a playlist of songs we’ve been listening to in the studio,” they wrote at the time. “We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!” The playlist – which contains tracks from the Velvet Underground, Solange, Björk, Radiohead and Frank Ocean – has been growing ever since it was put on streaming sites, with the group adding new tracks at random intervals. However, last night, a mysterious piece of new music appeared on the list. The 55-second instrumental is both unnamed and uncredited, and has just a blank white space as a cover image. Whether it is a teaser of new material is yet to be confirmed, but it does have a pretty distinct ‘xx’ feel to it. Stream the cryptic track below on Spotify, or listen to it on Apple Music here.
