As Pitchfork report, MIA confirmed to fans that she had finished work on the new record, and that it was currently in the last days of mixing. She also said that it would no longer be called Matahdatah, and that she has thinks about leaking it “every day”. “Remember my album when they bury it and say that it’s shit or I didn’t work hard enough or I didn’t care about you, just remember I made one,” she said. When asked by a fan to leak it, she explained that she’d prefer to work with her label to make sure that it’s successful. “If I carry on making music, then I would do that,” she said, “But I also want to find an album where I can actually make my label work for me.” MIA has been busy recently, teaming up with H&M to release a song promoting sustainability. Most recently she said that her new album would be her “last”, although it wasn’t clear if she didn’t want to release new albums in future or if it was just the last album in her contract for Interscope.
