Last week, English rapper Mathangi ‘Maya’ Arulpragasam aka M.I.A. previewed the music video for her new song “Rewear It” –and now she’s released the full three-and-a-half-minute version. While her last song “Borders” was a response to the refugee crisis, “Rewear It” addresses the environmental impact of fast fashion.

The video sees M.I.A. perform against a backdrop of tents constructed using recycled textiles, with cameos from cross-eyed model Brunette Moffy and Yanis Marshall’s all-male, high-heeled dance troupe among others. Created in collaboration with H&M, its release coincides with World Recycle Week (April 18-24), an initiative instigated by the Swedish retailer with the aim of collecting 1,000 tonnes of unwanted clothes to recycle.
