However, now that Stormzy has firmly attached his music crown, the award-winning artist has decided to turn his hand to acting. Earlier today, it was announced that he had joined the cast of Brotherhood, the final film in Noel Clarke’s “urban franchise”, which includes two previous films, Kidulthood and Adulthood. This isn’t the first time the British writer has championed grime artists in his trilogy. Kidulthood, which was released almost a decade ago, was peppered with a grime soundtrack that included Wiley, Dizzee Rascal and Lethal Bizzle, while Adulthood was injected with Sincere and D Double E’s “Reppin’ London”, Sway’s “F Ur Ex” and Wiley’s “Grime Kid”. Brotherhood is set for release in 2016 to tie in with the tenth anniversary of Kidulthood.
