“It’s nice to know that the biggest artists right now are women! It makes me happy that people are seeing how talented Sabrina [Carpenter] is… and Chappell Roan,” beabadoobee says, speaking to Dazed for her recent cover story. “I feel like I’m in safe hands being surrounded by all these women.”

Collaboration is at the heart of everything the 25-year-old musician makes: from working with her boyfriend, director Jake Erland, to being in a band with her best friends (who else remembers the group she formed with Clairo and her bassist Eliana called The Pussy Slammers?). Over the course of her musical career, the artist has collaborated with some of our favourite musicians, from María Zardoya of The Marías to PinkPantheress and Laufey.

Below, we look back at some of the Dazed cover stars’ most iconic collaborations.

“ALL I DID WAS DREAM OF YOU” – BEABADOOBEE FEAT. MARÍA ZARDOYA

The beabadoobee drought is finally over. After over a year of no music, she’s dropped this dreamy and melodic track with María Zardoya of The Marías. The romantic soft rock tune is quintessential beabadoobee: confessional, brooding and romantic.

“GLUE SONG” – BEABADOOBEE FEAT. CLAIRO

beabadoobee is a lover girl through and through. “I love everyone I used to have love for… kind of,” she tells Dazed. She released “Glue Song” as a standalone single on Valentine’s Day in 2023, but after the romantic melody went viral on TikTok, it was later included as a bonus track on her 2024 album, This Is How Tomorrow Moves. The track is even sweeter and more sentimental with her friend Clairo’s vocals.

“TINKERBELL IS OVERRATED” – BEABADOOBEE FEAT. PINKPANTHERESS

Two British Gen-Z icons on one track! What’s not to love? beabadoobee might be well known for her more sombre pop-indie tunes, but this collaboration with PinkPantheress is a refreshing pop-jungle track that is so much fun to listen to.

“FEAR OF FLYING” – MAC WETHA FEAT. AMINÉ, BEABADOOBEE

This may seem like a strange collaboration – between Mac Wetha, Aminé and beabadoobee – but that’s exactly why it works. In an interview with The Line of Best Fit, Wetha remarked: “The thing I love most about collaboration is the idea of people coming together on a track that may not necessarily make sense, but in fact it makes total sense when you hear it.” It’s a catchy indie-pop tune that gets stuck in your head after one listen, especially when you hear beabadoobee softly repeat the words “I’m not gonna make a mistake”.

“A NIGHT TO REMEMBER” – BEABADOOBEE, LAUFEY

Now, this collaboration took nobody by surprise. “A Night To Remember” is a sultry, jazzy love letter to a very passionate evening between two lovers, sung and written by chief lover girls beabadoobee and Laufey.

“SILVER INTO RAIN” – LUNA LI FEAT. BEABADOOBEE

Luna Li’s “Silver Into Rain” is the kind of song you can find yourself getting lost in for hours, until the electric guitar in the chorus brings you back to reality. The moody, bedroom pop track is all about longing to become a better self, when you feel like everything you touch turns bad, or more specifically, turns into rain. beabadoobee comes in at the chorus like a crescendo from the heavens, reminding Li that “it’s not too late” for things to change and get better.

“CYBERKISS 2 U*” – BLACKSTARKIDS FEAT. BEABADOOBEE

In 2022, beabadoobee sang on this track for her labelmates, hip-hop and indie rock group BLACKSTARKIDS. The textured electronic track is heavily inspired by the New York downtown party scene — and musically by Daft Punk and Jamiroquai.  beabadoobee’s voice seamlessly meshes into the techno world of BLACKSTARKIDS, as her audio-tuned voice playfully sings: “I just wanna send you a kiss!”
