The shooting at the venue claimed 89 lives – including, sadly, the band’s merch manager Nick Alexander and three record company employees. Touring dummer Julian Dorio and his bandmates escaped through a backstage exit. You’d understand if someone in that position would never feel compelled to return to Europe again, let alone to Paris. But since, Dorio has posted a message on his Instagram pledging to finish the concert. “I’m counting down the days until I get to finish that concert. Peace & love,” he wrote in the long post. Now the band have had their first interview since the attacks and confirmed their wish: to be the first to play in the Bataclan upon its reopening “I cannot wait to come back to Paris. I cannot wait to play,” lead singer Jesse Hughes told Vice. “I want to come back. I want to be the first band to play in the Bataclan when it opens back up.” Watch the whole interview beloe.
