Last week hundreds of anime fanatics, cosplayers and nipponophiles descended upon London’s Novotel West in Hammersmith for the city’s annual anime and gaming convention, a delightfully nerdy carnival of cat ears, multi-coloured wigs and many, many glow sticks. With stacks of merch stands, gaming tournaments and J-pop idol shows, the convention has earned a reputation over the years for being one of the cursed and chaotic cons this side of the Atlantic (in a good way), with the hotel location recalling Y2K era meet-ups from decades past, and cat-eared maids around every corner. We sent photographer Lex Law (aka street style account @main.character.spotted) to capture the action.
