Life & CultureListsThe artist doodling all the most iconic VinesWhat the FUCK is up, VineShareLink copied ✔️January 12, 2018Life & CultureListsTextAnna Cafolla Ah, Vine: the home of pioneering short-form, high-concept comedy, where its biggest stars threw out memes and quotable quips that shook the world in under six seconds. Fortunately we don’t have to rely on those abyss-filling, hour-long YouTube compilations anymore, now Vine 2 is officially on its way. Filling that void even more so is Zephani Jong, whose drawings of the most life-affirming Vines have been all over Twitter timelines. Jong, an 18-year-old student from Howard, Maryland, was on Winter break with little to do, so she thought she would start “loosening up” and practicing her art again on sticky notes. “My art is usually like portraits of my favorite people, whether singers or Youtubers or actors or models, and I usually draw them on toned paper with graphite and white pastel pencil for the highlights,” she tells Dazed. “Also, I recently got into oil painting which I discovered I'm actually kind of a natural at. I enjoy doing art that i feel inspired to do. If a cool idea comes to me, I get really excited to make it come to life.” Her latest idea was capturing our fave Vines in another fleeting format, her sticky notes. ‘Wow’ guy? In there. ‘Little girl inexplicably covered in makeup looking like she’s just rolled in from the club?’ yep. ‘Miss Keisha, she dead’ has a place in the huge Twitter thread too. She’s as excited as the rest of us about Vine 2.0 too: “I can't wait to see what else people come up with to make the world laugh.” Below, Zephani Jong has rounded up her faves. ‘IT IS WEDNESDAY, MY DUDES’ it is wednesday my dudes pic.twitter.com/7zN93W3yGq— rip zeph (@zephanijong) January 3, 2018 “This is the one that started it all, so I feel like I should include it.” ‘SO NO HEAD?’ so no head? pic.twitter.com/VEgD4ilfkl— rip zeph (@zephanijong) January 3, 2018 “I like this one, first of all because the vine is iconic – this goes for all of them – but also because it made me go out of my comfort zone of only drawing faces. I can't remember the last time I drew a full figure.” ‘WOW’ GUY wow pic.twitter.com/Pj0kgmOnmc— rip zeph (@zephanijong) January 4, 2018 “I like this one because it turned out pretty darn accurate to the Vine which I am proud of, and everyone seems to like this one a lot.” ‘WHAT THE FUCK IS UP KYLE’ what the FUCK is up Kyle, no what did you say, what the FUCK dude, step the FUCK up Kyle pic.twitter.com/AhajImNfoU— rip zeph (@zephanijong) January 4, 2018 “I think this is one of the first ones I really got practice in drawing expressions correctly.
