The newly-unveiled posters for the true crime drama offer a glimpse at several of the main characters, including Patrizia Reggiani (played by Lady Gaga) and Maurizio Gucci (Marriage Story’s Adam Driver). The pair’s relationship will provide a focal point for the film, which revolves around the 1995 murder that saw Reggiani convicted of arranging the assassination of Gucci, her ex-husband. The posters also offer an initial look at Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons, and Al Pacino in House of Gucci (the trio play Paolo Gucci, Rodolfo Gucci, and Aldo Gucci, respectively). Leto, in particular, is pretty much unrecognisable as the former Gucci design chief, wearing prosthetics and a bald cap. The House of Gucci trailer gives a better idea of the drama (and glamour) that will unfold throughout the film, with scenes spanning Gucci stores, catwalks, the Alps, Studio 54, and of course the infamous doorway where Maurizio Gucci was gunned down. Watch below. Of course, the new promotional materials aren’t our first look at the film. That arrived back in March, via a much-memed alpine image of Lady Gaga and Driver, followed by several on-set snapshots that have only heightened our anticipation (view a few of Gaga’s best looks here). One family that isn’t excited for the film’s release, however, is the Gucci family itself. Back in April, one of Maurizio Gucci’s second cousins, Patrizia Gucci, told reporters that they are “truly disappointed” with the film, adding that the casting decisions are “horrible” and “shameful”. Take a look at the new House of Gucci posters below, as well as the newly-released trailer, and decide for yourself. Escape the algorithm!
