Grande’s music first featured in a lip-sync battle with “Break Free” back in season seven, which also saw the Positions singer make her debut appearance as a guest judge. Since then, her tracks have become something of a staple, with contestants also performing “Greedy”, “Into You”, “Problem”, and “One Last Time” over the years. “Bang Bang” even marked the finale of season ten. Responding to the news (which would be an undeniable high point of anyone’s career, tbh) Grande writes via Twitter: “!!!!!!! the biggest honor i can't stop screaming.” In an Instagram story, she also says that the record is “the greatest honour of all time”, adding: “I am so happy and thankful RuPaul, no one understands what this means to me.” Trailing Grande with six songs each are Madonna and Britney Spears (though Britney’s “Stronger” has featured twice), while Rihanna can claim five tracks featured on the show so far. If a record number of Drag Race features isn’t enough Ariana Grande for your TV screens, she’s also recently announced that she’ll be joining the likes of John Legend and Kelly Clarkson as a coach on the next season of The Voice. “I am beyond thrilled, honored, excited,” she says.
