Leto was first linked to an Andy Warhol biopic, based on Victor Bockris’ 1989 book Warhol: The Biography, back in 2016. With Leto as both the lead actor and co-producer, the film also had Terence Winter – the screenwriter behind The Wolf of Wall Street and Boardwalk Empire – attached as a writer. However, the new announcement doesn’t provide much more information, meaning it’s difficult to tell whether it relates to the same project, or whether any other production details have changed in the interim.
