The second official trailer for the film, in which Natalie Portman plays the protagonist, has just been released, revealing that there will be new music from Sia. The Grammy-nominated artist penned the music for the film, including “Wrapped Up”, the track that plays in this short preview. Scott Walker will score the film. Spanning a 15-year timeframe, the film fasts forwards to pivotal moments in the musician’s adult career and lets the viewer see it through her eyes. She’s a musician doing everything she can to revive her previous fame with the help of long term manager, played by Jude Law. It is no surprise that the acclaimed actress is a favourite for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar this year. Portman was last nominated for her role in Jackie and won best actress in 2011 for Black Swan. Other predicted nominees include Regina King (If Beale Street Could Talk), Claire Foy for her role in First Man, and Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz from The Favourite. Vox Lux was premiered at the Venice Film Festival earlier this year, and is set for wider release on December 7. Escape the algorithm!
