Zendaya will star in the series, which has been adapted from a popular Israeli show
After almost ten years since the rapper left his acting role on Degrassi, Drake has decided to get back into television. As Variety reports, HBO has picked up Euphoria, an adaption of an Israeli series, that credits Drake as an executive producer.
You’d think that after an absolutely mammoth 25-song album that Drake would want a break, but instead he’s diving into unfamiliar territory, as this will be the first TV producing credit for Drake and his DJ and manager Future the Prince.
The coming-of-age drama follows teens as they navigate issues like sex, drugs and social media. Ex-Disney star Zendaya will star in the show as the lead, playing a character named Rue. HBO’s Drama Senior Vice President Francesca Orsi described the series as “Kids meets Trainspotting”.
HBO has made multiple Israeli adaptations as of late, having previously remade In Treatment based on the BeTipul.
