Internet icon Joanne the Scammer, the fur-wearing double-crossing character created by writer-performer Branden Miller, is finally getting her own TV show. After years of dominating Instagram, Vine and YouTube, Joanne has been working with Super Deluxe for two years making videos like “Caucasian Living with Joanne the Scammer” and her own take on Thelma and Louise after Former Super Deluxe social media manager Jason Richards discovered Branden.

In their latest efforts to transition from internet-only to TV, entertainment company Super Deluxe are giving Joanne her very own half-hour show. The TV series will be written by Parks and Recreation writer Joe Mande and executive produced by Chelsea Peretti. The show doesn’t yet have a network, but speaking to Janet Mock in July, Miller said that his TV show would expand on his sketches. “If you know Joanne on Instagram, there are little snippets of her life. Instagram gives you one minute of that, the show will give you the whole storyline.”

Recently, Super Deluxe told The Verge that it had 50 TV shows in-development that it planned to bring to the market. The company’s VP of original programming, Winnie Kemp, said “we’re almost like an incubator. We’re able to help young creators preserve what they want to make and present it in a way that makes bigger companies feel confident that the execution and the creative is all going to be there when we make it.”

As well as Joanne’s show, Super Deluxe announced recently that Tim and Eric’s Abso Lutely Productions would be co-producing a show on Vic Berger and Titmouse, the animation company responsible for Netflix’s recent hit Big Mouth, will co-produce a series called Boss Bitch.
