Y/Project is widely remembered as the cult avant-garde label that took fashion to new extremes. From its scandalous jewellery to hilarious middle-finger gloves, it was a brand that dared to be mischievous and was loved dearly for it. But not many know that Y/Project’s story has been steeped in tragedy, even before the brand’s closure in January this year.

It’s been over a decade since co-founder Yohan Serfaty sadly died of cancer, aged just 47, and a year since his business partner, Gilles Elalouf, also died at the age of 58. Following Serfaty’s death in 2013, Belgian designer Glenn Martens was appointed the brand’s creative director – a position he held until September last year, before landing the top job at Maison Margiela

Though nine months have passed since the brand’s closure, many fashion insiders are still mourning the end of Y/Project. However, as announced this morning (September 26), they can now get their hands on some of its rarest and earliest designs. Next week, just in time for the fashion crowd to arrive in Paris, Y/Project and the Yohan Serfaty archive will host a major sale in the third arrondissement, at VSP boutique.

The sale will include a charity auction of 300 rare pieces, from early Y/Project designs to items from Yohan Serfaty’s eponymous label. Alongside the announcement of the sale comes the launch of the Yohan Serfarty fund, fulfilling the late designer’s wishes to support creative youth. All proceeds from the sale will be donated to ANDAM to support emerging creative talent, and in 2026, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs will host an exhibition highlighting ANDAM laureates. The sale will take place over three days during Paris Fashion Week, from October 4 to 6.

Elsewhere in fashion this week, we waved goodbye to London Fashion Week for another season (see our roundup here) and said buongiorno to Milan. So far in Italy, Diesel SS26 was an egg-cellent affair, KNWLS and Nike debuted their latest collab, and the Prada Randomiser is here to splice up your skirts.
