Despite mustering a modicum of courage towards the end of the film, Nosferatu’s Thomas Hutter was a bit of a damp squib, bumbling around Transylvania like an idiot and failing to please his admittedly quite possessed wife. Hoult was so convincing at playing Hutter that many of us forgot what levels of daddy he can truly possess, and for that we are eternally sorry. Jogging our memories and grabbing our attention in the most neck-snapping way was the British actor’s latest fashion transformation, hitting the streets of New York while promoting his latest turn in the new Superman movie (as Lex Luther, not the big man himself). First up was a chocolate brown suit from Tom Ford by Haider Ackermann, which was soon switched for a Prada shirt in the same hue, plus some pressed navy trousers and a leather bowling bag, also from the Italian brand. The look-de-resistance, though, came when Hoult shed those layers for some white Celine jeans and a white tank top that really brought out his St Tropez spray tan. With Prada bag in hand, Prada shades on face, and an oatmeal knit tied around his shoulders, Hoult had transformed into some sort of monied tycoon who summers in the Hamptons, and the internet seems to love it. The three looks were bolstered by Hoult’s new bleached hair, which I think looks great, however one guest at Berlin Fashion Week (where I am writing this from) said it made him look like Diplo.
