“We live in an era of violent uproar,” writes Alessandro Michele in the release for Valentino’s AW25 campaign film, titled The Poetics of Everyday. “The everyday is not a backdrop that animates only when the extraordinary steps in,” he continues, encouraging us to appreciate our daily routines. The little things that may seem ordinary, but bring us joy, no matter how small – like going for ice cream, unpuzzling a Rubik’s Cube or going for a bike ride, for example.

Of course, as with all Michele concepts, there are elements of surrealism. A cockatoo perched on the shoulder of one model, a horse clip-clopping into frame, or an unexpected snowstorm when Yellow Jackets actress Sophie Thatcher appears. Amelia Gray also dashes in and out of the ice cream parlour backdrop, playing with a yo-yo – part of her daily routine, perhaps?

Elsewhere in fashion this week, Valentino’s is one of several fun new campaigns, from On and Zendaya’s venture into space to Jacquemus’ trip to the pyramids of Giza (see more of both in the gallery below). The news we’ve all been eagerly awaiting was finally announced today, as Jonathan Anderson was confirmed as the creative director of Dior Men. In other major fashion news, Duran Lantink was announced as the creative director Jean Paul Gaultier, meanwhile, the internet obsessed over Coachella’s wildest looks. Here’s everything you need to catch up on.
