Today we welcome a new addition to the gradually growing list of fashion documentaries. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Thierry Mugler’s eponymous brand, the hour-long documentary Inside the Dream: Mugler – directed by Matthieu Menu and produced by Terminal Nine Studios – follows current creative director Casey Cadwallader as he prepares for the label’s SS24 ready-to-wear show in Paris.

Taking us on a journey back to the early days of Mugler, as well as some of the most iconic show moments of all time (including Jerry Hall, Iman and Pat Cleveland), the film also looks at Mugler now. Law Roach and Zendaya make an appearance, charting the process of pulling the AW95 robot look from the archives so that the actress could wear it to the Dune: Part Two London premiere. There’s also a cameo from Hunter Schafer, with a behind the scenes look at the latest Angel Fantasm campaign photoshoot. You can watch the full documentary now, available on Amazon Prime here.

In other fashion news this week, Loewe dropped its star-studded SS25 pre-collection campaign, which borrowed a load of buzzy actors from Netflix; Rick Owens, Michéle Lamy and co were asked to leave Beijing’s Forbidden City after their clothing was deemed inappropriate for the historical site; Moncler invited 8,000 guests to Shanghai for its latest City of Genius show; and to celebrate Pulp Fiction’s 30th anniversary, costume designer Betsy Heimann spilled six secrets about the film’s clothes.

Elsewhere, with Halloween around the corner we rounded up all the best costume ideas to flex your pop culture knowledge; Spain’s fashion week 080 Barcelona Fashion returned for its 34th edition and we were on hand to catch all the hottest shows; we looked back at Pete Burns’ unapologetic style on the anniversary of his death; plus, celebs and their stylists have gone mad for archival looks over the last couple of years, so we went head-to-head on the question of whether we should shut off the fashion archive for good.
