It’s no surprise then, that for their Spring/Summer 2025 collection, Samsøe Samsøe drew inspiration from the serene beauty of early mornings in their hometown: “Reflecting the tranquility of empty city streets and hopeful optimism.” Though now an international brand recognised around the world, Samsøe Samsøe first began as a small jewellery shop in Copenhagen in 1993. In 2000, when Peter Sextus and Per-Ulrik Andersen took charge of the brand, the focus shifted to contemporary clothing, footwear, and accessories for both men and women. This season, they expanded their range of accessories even further, with men’s bags crafted from mini ripstop fabric, their first women’s trainers, and a new line of sunglasses all together. While they continue to push forward, their commitment to a sense of uniquely Scandinavian minimalism and utilitarianism remains unchanged. This spirit can be felt in the season’s effortless everyday wear. For the women’s, that’s a mixing of sharp tailoring and sporty elements, like a sleeveless open blazer styled with baggy, tie closure jeans. Ribbed knit tube dresses and ruched tie-dye prints are this season’s statements, elevating wearable basics with an edge. These are the clothes that you toss on when running to grab a coffee before work, but also to meet friends at the pub on a Friday night; these are clothes you can live in. Across the men’s offering, elevated workwear and a healthy dose of East Coast prep merge, from cargo worker jackets and comfortably washed denim to crisp polos and cardigans for layering. Knits of varying thickness, including relaxed rugby strip pullovers, and Samsøe Samsøe’s superb leather outerwear serve as transitional pieces, all while drawing on the brand’s rich heritage. Those peaceful Copenhagen mornings are reflected in the colour palette, evoking the gentle hues of dusk, as well as pale yellow, blue, pink, and rich earthy tones. As for the brightest shade of the bunch, the orange glow of sunset, Samsøe Samsøe, turned to the horizon for its GOLDEN HOUR(S) celebration during Copenhagen Fashion Week, which featured a large-scale immersive installation of the sun setting. As guests enjoyed light bites by Chef Mati Pichci, and partied into the early hours, the whole magical cycle began again. Escape the algorithm!
