There’s nothing quite like a good ol’ fashion film, envisioning a world where good style reigns and overdressing simply doesn’t exist. 

Luis De Javier fans must be on the nice list this year because the designer has given them an early Christmas gift, a 15-minute short fashion film. Written by the designer and creative director Joel Palmer, the adrenaline-fuelled flick – Le Robó una Rosa – is a hot heist featuring Julia Fox, Yves Tumor, dominatrix and DJ Dangerous Rose, and leather-clad De Javierite citizens. 

A heady concoction of trippy visuals, motel romps, murder, and a thumping soundtrack – courtesy of Xavier Andrew – it’s exactly how you’d imagine the designer’s universe. As the scenes shift, De Javier’s wardrobe offers a provocative twist on heist gear – latex swimwear, ass-eating shorts, spiked platforms, and studded leather. 

The release of the film follows De Javier’s SS24 show, La Ruta – presented as part of LA Fashion Week last month. Featuring his signature horned corsets, barely-there bikinis, and lots more latex, the collection was created in collaboration with Riccardo Tisci who provided mentorship following his exit from Burberry last year. “What a fucking ride it has been,” De Javier said on Instagram. “I’m not sure how I’m ever going to repay you but I know that I will make you proud daddy Tisci. Your mentorship has been a gift from the heavens – now lets fuck shit up!”
