Now, just a few weeks after Kronthaler showed his SS24 collection in Paris – a sentimental but forward-looking offering which dove deep into his late wife’s legacy – he’s back with his vision for VW itself. Realising a long-held dream of Westwood’s, this season’s campaign comes to life at William Shakespeare’s Globe, not far from where the house’s studio lies close to the banks of the Thames, and champions the bard’s own criss-crossing approach to gender. Alongside classic corsetry and twisted tailoring are pieces that draw inspiration from some of the designer’s favourite artists, including romantic paintings by Boucher and abstract motifs from Pablo Picasso. “Thy eternal summer shall not fade,” reads the tagline of the collection, and nor will Westwood’s influence. In other news, OG Scream queen Neve Campbell scored a surreal Marc Jacobs starring role, while Kylie Jenner teased the launch of her new label Khy, which no one’s sure whether we actually really need, but here we are!
