Neither do we, but that doesn’t mean that style tribes are dead. In fact, they’re very much alive and thriving on every corner of the internet and IRL, as highlighted in adidas Originals and Zalando’s new subcultural glossary, the A to Z of Streetwear. Spanning everything from the hallowed halls of dark academia, to gorpcore’s great outdoors (read: the smoking area of a pub in east London), the campaign breaks down current trends and future classics into a series of handy “cores”. Like the look of a footie-themed blokette fit, or a vivid X-tra ensemble? Well, you can wear it too, thanks to the in-built, purposely-curated selection of adidas Originals icons. ICYMI, the A to Z of Streetwear officially launched last week with an in-person night market in Berlin, featuring a lineup of talented DJs, plus stalls offering core-themed activities, from Y2K makeovers to witch core astrology readings. Don’t feel left out, though! There’s plenty more where that came from. On Thursday, October 12, Paris will host its own night market to celebrate the adidas Originals x Zalando A to Z. Once again, there will be plenty of themed stalls on site, offering tooth gems, hair colouring, screen printing, arcade games, and more. In other words, there will be something for everyone – whether you’re a coastal cowgirl, a silver-haired zaddy, or a cottagecore sprite – as well as street food and lots of other exclusive surprises. On the music side of things, meanwhile, the event has a stacked lineup of DJs, vocalists, and dancers, including Ronisia, Tatyana Jane, Delawhere and Andrège Bidiamambu, and Jeune Pouce.
